How To Make an Acrylic Frame: By Sarah E.

I'm sure some of you have seen the great acrylic frames that are outthere.. and if you haven't, all they really are is a transparency material imprinted and used as a photo frame on your layout. I love them, but there's been a few times I wanted to use one and did not have the right color, design etc. Well, now I can make my own, with the added bonus of a little bit of texture too!

SUPPLIES:
Embossing heat gun
Embossing powder
Embossing ink/fluidStamp of your choice
4x6 piece of transparency
Paint brushes (Just to dust off the excess powder)

Step #1 - Liberally cover your chosen stamp with embossing ink, keep that in mind when choosing your stamp that this will frame a photo so your image should be to the side. Stamp the image onto the 'printable side' of the transparency. You should be able to brush your finger across each side and tell the difference.

Step #2 - Cover the image with embossing powder, take care not cover the entire transparency with the powder, cover just the image. Once covered, knock off the excess, and use a small paint brush to sweep away any remaining powder.

Step #3 - Heat the embossing powder as you normally would, using a smooth back and forth motion, as to melt it evenly and NOT melt or warp the transparency. Let cool, and voila! A custom frame! Very cool and a great way to use your rubber stamps!!
