HOW TO: by the M2R Design Team Coordinator Valerie Werhenberg:
When you look at a lot of my work, you can see that I have a love affair for buttons. I love the versitility of them!! There are so many fun ways to use them. I'm going to share a few of my layouts to show the different ways that I have used buttons. One of my favorite ways is using them as flower centers. I think this adds so much character and dimension to a flower. Here is one of my layouts in the Moments To Remember Gallery, titled, "Hippo." I cut the flowers out on my Cricut and made them all different sizes. I matched the buttons to the colors in the pattern paper.

I also love clustering buttons with other page accents. On the page titled, "Love Like This," I mixed the cut-out flowers with the buttons.

On the page titled, "My Budding Artist," I used buttons as a border down one side of the photos. The border could have been extended to go around the whole photo block for a fun look!

Another method I like doing with buttons is to create a design or shape with them. In the layout titled, "Will You Dance," Instead ofdrawing or cutting out florishes for the flower, I used buttons to flow along that same path.

Buttons are one of my favorite embellishments to use. I get a lot of my more unique buttons from old clothes or the extra buttons that come with new clothes. Garage sales are also a great place to find a lot of buttons for not a lot of money. They are easy to adhere to a page...they can be sewn directly to the page or glued on with liquid glue, glue dots or any other kind of adhesive.

6 x 12 Cork Album How To By: Jennifer Griggs (Lizzie)
With 6x12 pages becoming more and more popular and fun, I wanted an album that was as fun as they are!
Unfortunately, there aren't very many albums in that size on the market. What's the solution? Make your own, of course!
Supplies:
A 12 inch square cork tile
3 Metal Craft Rings (the kind you can open and close)
Razor Blade or VERY strong scissors
Hole Punch...Things to make it pretty!!! this is all your choice!
Instructions: Using the razor blade or scissors, cut the cork tile in half. Decide where you would like the holes to connect the album. I used a sheet of notebook paper to mark the spots. Use paints, stamps, or other embellishments to decorate the front of one half of the tile. Using the metal rings, attach the tiles as your front and back cover. As you create 6 x 12 pages, you can add them into the album. You will need to punch holes in them to fit them into the album. There are many other items that could be used instead of corkboard. Make this project your own...just remember to HAVE FUN!!!
